DAY 1 – ARRIVAL IN ANTANANARIVO
No meal Meet and great at the airport, then transfer to your hotel, La Résidence Lapasoa or Le Royal Palissandre**.
DAY 2 – ANTANANARIVO / NOSY BE – B/L
Morning walking tour in the old city, a city in the city. Narrow paved streets, beautiful traditional houses, protestant temples and catholic churches, small squares… and a lot of historical anecdotes ….
Welcome to Madagascar highlands ! Lunch in at the Grill du Rova, from where the view over Antananarivo is just refreshing. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Nosy Be.
Upon arrival, installation at the beautiful Tsara Vintana Villa.
DAY 3 – NOSY BE – B/L
Full day dedicated to the visit of this tropical island, also known as the perfume island due to the numerous Ylang-Ylang plantation.
In the morning, visit of such a plantation and distillery, where they produce essential oil, mainly exported to France.
It is used in many luxurious perfumes. Then Hell-ville walking tour, with its very animated and colourful market, where everything is on offer, from vegetables to fresh shrimps, and traditional argila cosmetic masks, spices…
Then drive to the Northen part of the island to the beautiful Andilana beach.
Swimming, fresh tropical fruit cocktail and buffet lunch on the beach, under coconut trees.
Drive to the Mount Passot for sunset time : this is the highest point of view of the island. Drive back to the Tsara Vintana Villa. The village of Ambatoloaka is only 10 minutes walking on the beach from your villa, and many restaurants propose varied dinners (Malagasy, seafood, European).
DAY 4 – NOSY BE / NOSY MAMOKO – B/L/D
Early morning departure to have breakfast with your boat staff. It is the moment also to choose your snorkelling material. Then departure from Nosy Be for a full morning onboard your dugout.
What it is ? These boats are the result of the Arabian presence in Madagascar centuries ago.
At that time, they were carrying slaves, pearls and gold. They were coming from Tanzania, Djibouti, Kenya to the north west of Madagascar.
Nowadays, they are still important for the local business, and good transportation. It can land on any beach in spite of its huge weight, It can be heavy loaded, and it offers a silence that dolphins especially appreciate…
it is frequent to be followed by some of them, an unforgettable experience. On our way, we will stop to snorkelling and fishing places.
The cook will start to cook on board, but the lunch will be served on the beach of Nosy Mamoko, a small paradise island. Large “nattes” are set on the sand, under coconut trees, facing the ocean.
Resting time after lunch then visit of the island village, and meeting with these nomad fishermen.
Nosy Mamoko is known for the marine turtle nidation, and for its special inhabitants : the lemurs. Dinner on the beach under the stars, night camping.
DAY 5 – NOSY MAMOKO / BAIE DES RUSSES – B/L/D
Morning on board to reach the Russian Bay. This huge bay is made of small cricks nested on a luxuriant vegetation, apart of the world. Lunch on the beach. Siesta, then snorkelling and meeting with the fishermen. Dinner and night camping.
DAY 6 – BAIE DES RUSSES / BARAMAMAHY – B/L/D
Coastal navigation today passing by small isolated and unhabitated islands, till the special isolated small village of Baramamahy.
Special for its unexpected grocery store / bar, where people from all around (and it can be from very far!) come for a drink or to buy some sugar or oil.
It is situated at the entrance of a “kinga”, which is an estuary where the ocean goes far inland. The wild mangrove offers a spectacular preserved wildlife, and a surprising commercial life.
Floating along the Kinga, we will meet small canoe transporting wood, alive chicken, ravinala used to build local houses… Way back to the campsite.
Dinner and night camping.
DAY 7 – BARAMAMAHY / NOSY IRANJA / NOSY BE – B/L
Early morning departure for the absolute postcard place : Nosy Iranja. This island is in fact two different islands, linked to each other by a sand path which can be cross walking at low tide.
Cristal blue water, colourful marine life… the best place to end this very special cruise. In the afternoon, way back to Nosy Be island that you will reach just before night.
Transfer to Tsara Vintana Villa.
DAY 8 – NOSY BE / ANTANANARIVO / FINAL DESTINATION - B
Transfer to the Nosy Be airport on time for your flight back to the capital, and onward flight to your final destination. End of our services.
